NYFF Catalyst Grant 2026 – Overview

The Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) Catalyst Grant 2026 is now open for applications, offering up to $50,000 in funding to support youth-led organizations across Nigeria.

Implemented by LEAP Africa and backed by global partners like the MacArthur Foundation and Ford Foundation, this initiative is designed to strengthen Nigeria’s youth ecosystem by funding organizations that can act as regional hubs for impact and innovation.


Grant Value and Structure

Selected organizations can receive:

  • Up to $50,000 in funding
  • Structured funding disbursement (two phases)
  • Opportunity to serve as a regional youth hub

Importantly, funding is split to support both:

  • Project implementation (50%)
  • Youth ecosystem development at the regional level (50%)

Purpose of the Catalyst Grant

The NYFF Catalyst Grant focuses on empowering organizations that can:

  • Strengthen youth leadership and civic engagement
  • Drive policy advocacy and governance reforms
  • Build sustainable youth ecosystems across regions
  • Promote inclusive development and participation

This grant is ideal for organizations ready to scale their impact and influence at both community and regional levels.


Key Thematic Areas

Applicants must align their proposals with one or more of the following priority areas:

1. Policy & Advocacy

  • Youth participation in policymaking
  • Public sector reforms and governance initiatives

2. Electoral Participation

  • Youth involvement in elections and democratic processes
  • Voter education and electoral reforms

3. Accountability & Transparency

  • Budget tracking and public accountability
  • Strengthening governance systems

4. Social Inclusion

  • Gender equality initiatives
  • Disability inclusion and marginalized communities

5. Peace & National Cohesion

  • Conflict prevention and peacebuilding
  • Civic-security engagement

💡 Bonus Priority: Projects that leverage technology, media, and creative tools for impact are strongly encouraged.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the NYFF Catalyst Grant 2026, organizations must:

  • Be formally registered in Nigeria (e.g., CAC registration)
  • Be youth-led and impact-driven
  • Have a proven track record of successful projects
  • Possess strong financial and operational systems
  • Have the capacity to operate as a regional hub
  • Provide financial records and referees

Organizations without registration may apply through a registered partner.


Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit:

  • A detailed project proposal (max 3,000 words)
  • Organizational documents (CAC, SCUML, etc.)
  • Financial records and supporting documents
  • Referee details

The proposal should clearly outline:

  • The problem being addressed
  • Implementation strategy
  • Monitoring and evaluation framework
  • Budget and timeline
